I release my expectations so that I can discover greater blessings in God’s plan, I’m looking beyond my disappointments to embrace new beginnings, and I let God’s love help me face my hurt and forgive those who hurt me.
Friendship is the springboard to every other love and the foundation for every healthy relationship. We were created to need each other. This truth is never more evident than when we are in pain or struggling with some circumstances in life.. When I think back some people counted themselves as my friend when in reality they were just simply acquaintances because that was all I allowed them to be. My pride kept me from admitting I wasn’t superwoman and that I did need the help of others, My insecurity held me back from reaching out to new friends. To admit my need of a friend seemed like a weakness instead of the precious gift God created it to be. I refused to take the risk of being hurt, rejected, or misunderstood. I didn’t have time to invest in building intimate friendships and was too busy to be a friend and as a result when the darkness hit, I felt isolated and alone. Friendship took an entirely different meaning in my life today. They pray for me, hold me accountable and comfort me when they see my priorities lining up in the wrong way. My true friends have me stop and take time for fun. They have taught me to see things clear. Now… Have I’ve been hurt along the way? Yes. Have I been misunderstood? Yes. Have my friendships been worth the price? Absolutely. Roses are beautiful and people who know me are aware of the fact that I can kill any plant. But their thorns can inflict a lot of pain. I see now how a beautiful rose is worth the wound it gives and I have learned to handle roses with respect and in such a way that my own wounds are few. I treasure my intimate friendships and we know that we are here for each other and only a phone call away. Blessings to all my beautiful friends!
There are certain secrets of God’s guidance He allows His children to learn. On the surface, His dealings with us appear to be harsh and hidden, Yet faith looks deeper. “This is God’s secret”. I have been looking only on the outside, but I’m starting to look deeper and see the hidden meaning. I know that diamonds are found in the rough and their true value cannot be seen. He may be sending me some valuable gifts wrapped in unattractive paper, But I’m not going to worry about the wrappings because I’m sure that inside He has hidden treasures of Love, Kindness, and Wisdom. I’m simply going to take what He’s sending me and trust Him for the blessings inside and I will learn the meaning of the secrets of His guidance. Even in times of darkness, I have Him as my master in all my circumstances and I will not push away because they are the hands of The Potter, I will learn to master them not by stopping its progress but by enduring its discipline. My circumstances are not only shaping me into a vessel of beauty and honor but also providing me with resources of great value.
Sometimes our lives can look a lot like a theme park. Sometimes we don’t get to choose what ride we’re going on. Although God loves us, He does not shelter us from life calamities. Just one call, a job termination, a fierce storm, or a bad medical report can catapult us from a smooth sailing voyage to a haunting ride we never imagined. Within minutes our high spirits can turn into desperate pleads to escape the situation. But though in the midst of this, we can trust God is with us. Just because were facing challenging difficulties doesn’t mean that God has turned His back on us. During these times it’s imperative that we hold tightly to our hope in The Lord, (Isaiah 40:31) Our faith, trust, and hope in Him will enable us to rise above the bleak circumstances encompassing us”. As we faithfully place our circumstances in The Lords hands, He will renew our strength, lift our spirits, and give us His peace.Believe wholeheartedly and profess out loud that God is going to have us mounting a lovelier ride soon. If God has us on a joyful expedition, do not look down on those that are facing hardships. Be sensitive, sincere, and offer help. (Eccl 7:14) “When times are good, Be happy, but when times are bad consider, God has made the one as well as the other, Therefore, a man can not discover anything about his future”. We don’t know what any given day may bring. No matter what ride we’re currently on, always hang tightly to your hope in The Lord, He will fill our heart and mind with His amazing love and peace, which will safely bring us through the unpredictable theme park of life.
Lord, Thank You for being with me each day, I know You are with me in good times and in difficulties as well. Holy Spirit, help me to be sensitive to others facing difficulties. Lord, I seek to reach out to comfort those by the same comfort You have given me. In Jesus Name, Amen
In Him, Lourdes
I always loved butterflies and today I have an understanding why I love them so much. After discovering the process of a butterfly it gave me the understanding with where I was in my life and “who I am” today. I will explain for those of you who may not know the process of a butterfly before it actually becomes a butterfly. So, before a caterpillar becomes a butterfly it prepares its cocoon as if it were dying, But what the caterpillar thinks is the end of its life, its actually “The Beginning”. It then sheds its skin which forms a chrysalis cocoon and goes inward for a few days. (Though for us in the process of life before discovering “Who we are”, (depending where you are in your life with yourself), it can take weeks, months or years). This process continues with it becoming a liquid (digestive soup). This liquid then chooses parts of the caterpillar to hold onto and kills the rest then creates new butterfly tissue. The butterfly then has to fight hard to get out of a the chrysalis (interesting thing is that if someone tries to help it during this process it dies). Its this process of fighting hard to get out that it gives the butterfly its strength and development that it needs to actually survive. Its then ready to learn to walk and fly. After learning about the process it takes before it becomes a Beautiful Butterfly, it was then I was able to say “I have been living as caterpillar, formed my cocoon, and have been in a puddle where I’m now fighting my way through (trials, circumstances all that life brings) learning and discovering more everyday of “Who I am”, I climbed out of what was holding me back, let go of what was not serving or supporting me, and now I’m able to fly, exploring all the beautiful new things life is bringing me. I’m enjoying every minute and embracing all the blessings in my life. I would like to encourage you to discover where are you in your life? Are you a caterpillar knowing that its time to change and do something new? Are you paddling around in the puddle of the person you were trying to discover the person you were created to be? Or are you a butterfly thriving and soaring to new heights? For me… it seemed like I was waiting for affirmation on what to do next, looking at what lied before me, all the hard work, pushing and pressing through, knowing the pain it was going to cause from letting go, all the obstacles I was going to face (which I learned to embrace). I took the leap of faith and started to learn and unleash all I had hidden and stored inside to discovering “WHO I AM”. This has been a process, and all worthwhile. I embrace all of my life experiences, the good and the not so good (in which I would’t change) It is because of all these life experiences that I have the strength to keep moving forward, as I look upward reaching my dreams. I look forward to sharing with you my journey as I continue walking, learning and growing experiencing my new heights. Blessings To All!
