Never Give Up

Luke 18:1

“Jesus told His disciples to show them that they should always pray and not give up”

When we don’t persevere, we don’t get an answer to our prayer because we give up and stop praying. I know this to be a mistake with serious consequences, its simply a trap when I begin things but never see them completed. When we start things without finishing, we fail. Giving up is admitting failure and defeat then leads to discouragement and doubt in the power of prayer. Sometimes I stop praying and leave the situation or circumstance in God’s hands but He says “Pray until what I pray for has been accomplished or until I have complete assurance in my heart that it will be”. He alone will decide when its safe to cease from it. I try to recognize this God-given assurance and know when to quietly rest in it or when to continue praying until I receive His answer. I try to wait at His promise until He meets me here. He always returns on the path of His promise.

Reading Sign Posts

I realize God lovingly pursues me. He has been showing me throughout my journey single word sign posts through conversations and visions. All these words I know are important, teaching me how to love, how to live and how to be free. I would like to share some single word sign post that He has shown me.

STAY: Sometimes He needs me to stay right where I am. I believe its because He’s working in me and there is no safer place than being with Him.

WAIT: I’m sure a lot of us have heard or seen this sign post before. Now more often than I like, He simply says “Wait”. I know sometimes we get impatient and we’re in a hurry, But He knows the best work takes time and He’s doing a good work inside of us, ( I try to remember He is never in a hurry).

GO: Even when I feel uncertain, confused or alone, I need to trust to “GO” believing He will make a way.

GRIEVE: There are times in life when it hurts so bad the only thing I can do is “GRIEVE”. I try not to fight it knowing my heart matters to Him and He’s healing it. So I allow myself time and space to grieve what hurts.

TRUST; This is actually something He has been telling me to do more often than not. This one I find hard to do at times with my actions and choices, even though I know in my mind I want to. Meaning- Trust: Reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc. of a person or thing. Confidence. He is all of these. Integrity, strength, able, sure. Sometimes there is no action on my part.

BELIEVE; He whispers this one to me. Sometimes my current circumstance may make it clear that this is all I can do. To Believe, To have confidence in the truth.

PRAY: This one is a must do and yes it works. (James 5:16) ” The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

CELEBRATE: I believe He loves a good party, He gave us joy because He knows we need it, He is a God of joy. We have permission to find something worth celebrating. So lets hit the pause button on the drama in our life and just celebrate.

Free To Be Okay

Did you ever wonder if its okay not to be okay? I know I have many of times. But the truth is… we are free to not be okay. It’s okay to feel bummed. We can’t be joyous all the time. We have our reasons, whether is a memory we think about that makes us sad and we feel a sense of sadness, a loss of a loved one in a breakup, Or a feeling that just surfaces and we just can’t understand it. It’s okay to feel this way. We should allow ourselves to feel sad, cry or be angry, It relieves the pressure of pretending, putting on a mask to hide the feelings that actually exist. Knowing this truth allows us to be real and relaxed, It frees us from the miserable unquenchable pursuit to make something of ourselves by using others. The tension comes from the burden of the hidden secrets we store inside ourselves. So let’s free ourselves to… Its okay to not be okay.

Faith Hope & Love

I live with these three words in my heart, Faith, Hope and Love.

Hebrews 11:1

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; It gives us the assurance about things we can not see.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you “declares The Lord”, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

1 Corinthians 13:13

“And now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.

I believe having Faith, Hope and Love as I go through my days I find an amazing sense of peace, I focus on the little things that matter most to me. For instance… The birds singing, the beautiful butterflies, flowers and trees, my boys playing and laughing, a pleasurable walk, people I meet wherever I go, a simple greeting and smile to brighten someones day, a complement to someone, or just being mindful, keeping things simple and peaceful. This brings me so much joy and peace. Doing this for myself, I don’t think or worry of life circumstances or my busy schedule. I appreciate life and all the people I encounter. If your asking yourself “How and why does she seem so happy?”, well I can tell you for a long time I took people and things for granted, not that I didn’t appreciate them, Its because I always thought its normal to be nice and do things for others. But I learned I was wrong. It takes having compassion, caring and listening to others needs. To stop focusing on self and be that person to make a difference in this world. As I wake up each morning, I say… Thank you God for another day that I have a purpose for. I look forward to starting my day and ending it with a “Thank You”. Having Faith, Hope and Love is all I need to get through my days with a smile, a peaceful mind, and a happy heart. Try it. You will feel peace and joy. Its a beautiful feeling.  Blessings!
